Our schedule and format varies according to the practice session, and may include:
One or more periods of 15-25 minute Zazen (sitting practice)
Walking meditation between sitting periods
A brief reflection from the practice leader or a scheduled talk
Chanting (especially at Zen-specific sessions): Four Great Vows, Heart Sutra, or other Zen chants
Group discussion and reflections after retreats and dharma talks
Retreats are extended versions of practice, with the following elements:
Four Great Vows + Brief Chanting
Most of the time: extended blocks that repeatedly alternate
25 minute Zazen
5 minute walking meditation
1:1 meetings (Dokusan) with the organizer for practice questions or Koan practice. Occurs during Zazen/Walking time blocks.
Group circle talk to close the retreat
